Pretoria FC has been founded by players and fans for the love of the game. Dedication and commitment is our main focus as we build the foundations of a great team.
The name Pretoria FC was chosen due to our strong links with the town but also the desire to stand out against the other Westhoughton football clubs in the area using the town name. The Pretoria Pit disaster was a mining accident on 21 December 1910, when an underground explosion occurred at the Hulton Colliery Bank Pit No. 3, known as the Pretoria Pit, in Over Hulton, Westhoughton, then in the historic county of Lancashire, in North West England. A total of 344 men & boys lost their lives.
We are dedicating our club to the memories of those people and in our club badge they are honoured.
